If your site is on Netlify, a log drain streams its traffic logs from Netlify's edge. AI agents rarely run JavaScript, so this is how you see them: nothing to install on your site. Log drains are part of Netlify's Enterprise plans.
What you need
- A Netlify plan that includes log drains
- Permission to manage the site's log drains
- A Ghost Agent Lab site, which gives you its private ingest URL
How to connect it
- In Ghost Agent Lab, add your site and open Settings → Data sources → Netlify log drain to copy its ingest URL.
- In Netlify, open your site's Logs & Metrics → Log Drains and choose Enable a log drain.
- Pick General HTTP endpoint, the Traffic logs log type and the JSON format.
- Paste the ingest URL as the full URL and save. The Data sources page shows “Receiving events” as soon as the first logs arrive.
Privacy: IP addresses are hashed on arrival and query strings are dropped. People are counted, never stored. Keep the ingest URL private; you can replace it in Settings at any time.
What you get
- Every crawler, AI assistant and agent that reaches your site
- What each one read and what your site sent back
- Verification against each operator's published IP ranges
- Agent traffic, journeys and alerts within minutes
