Agent readiness on Adobe Commerce and Magento

On Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source you, or your agency, configure almost everything: robots.txt and guest checkout in the Admin, the theme, and on Adobe's cloud the Fastly CDN in front of the store.

Checked against Adobe Commerce and Magento's documentation on October 26, 2026.

What the platform handles

  • A generated robots.txt, unless a physical file replaces it
  • Guest checkout, allowed by default
  • On Adobe Commerce on cloud: the Fastly CDN and web application firewall

What you control

  • robots.txt instructions, in the Admin
  • Guest checkout, per store view
  • The theme (Luma, Hyvä or custom) and its structured data
  • Bot protection rules, which are the merchant's responsibility

What to check

robots.txt

Check this

Commerce generates robots.txt. Add rules under Content › Design › Configuration, in the "Custom instruction of robots.txt" field. If search engine indexing is turned off, custom rules aren't applied, so check the live /robots.txt after any change.

Checkout

Usually fine

Allow Guest Checkout lives under Stores › Settings › Configuration › Sales › Checkout, and is on by default. Check nobody has turned it off for your store view.

llms.txt

Check this

On a self-hosted store, a developer can place an llms.txt file in the web root. On Adobe's cloud, ask your agency where static files are served from.
