Compare · DataDome

DataDome decides which agents get in. Ghost Agent Lab shows whether they can buy.

DataDome protects sites from bots and fraud, and its Agent Trust features identify AI agents, score how far to trust them and let you allow, block, rate-limit or monetize them. Ghost Agent Lab answers the next question: once a trusted agent is through the door, can it actually find a product, reach checkout and finish, and what is that worth? Most teams that care about both use both.

The difference

Different questions, often different owners

DataDome

  • “Should this request be trusted?”
  • Identifies AI agents with Web Bot Auth, reverse DNS and fingerprinting, and gives each a trust score
  • Allows, blocks, rate-limits or monetizes agents through policies, in real time
  • Publishes readiness checklists for agentic commerce as guidance

Ghost Agent Lab

  • “Can the agents we let in get the job done, and what are they worth?”
  • Sends real AI agents through checkout, sign-up and search on a schedule, with a replay of every step
  • Scores your site's agent readiness and ranks the fixes, from unnamed buttons to pop-ups that cover checkout
  • Never sits in the request path, so it can't slow or block your site

Better together

Trust the right agents in DataDome. Make sure they can finish in Ghost Agent Lab.

DataDome's policies decide which agents reach your site. Ghost Agent Lab then shows whether those agents could use it: which journeys they finished, where they got stuck, and which fixes would help most. Our Ghost Agents sign their requests with Web Bot Auth, which DataDome's documentation says it verifies, so your team can decide how to treat them like any other signed agent. If a policy is turning away an assistant your customers use, our agent traffic and AgentScore show it, on which pages.

FAQ

Questions

Does Ghost Agent Lab replace DataDome?

No. Ghost Agent Lab doesn't block or allow anything itself. DataDome protects your site and decides which agents to trust; Ghost Agent Lab tests whether the agents you let in can complete your journeys, and shows what they're worth.

DataDome already shows AI agent traffic. Why add Ghost Agent Lab?

DataDome's dashboard shows which agents arrive and how much to trust them. Ghost Agent Lab adds what happens next: whether an AI agent could actually finish checkout or sign-up, an AgentScore with ranked fixes to your site, and revenue from AI referrals and orders agents placed.

Will DataDome block Ghost Agents?

That's your policy to set. Ghost Agents identify themselves and sign every request with Web Bot Auth, so DataDome can recognise them. We recommend allowing them on the journeys you want tested, as you would any monitoring tool.
